Question of the Week #3
As a Canadian, what do you feel is the biggest thing in our lives that we take for granted? Explain.
I feel as canadians we sometimes take for granted our "freedom" and how lucky we really are. When you turn on the tv or hear on the news of all the damage and pain that is being done on other countries, we start to realize just how lucky we are that none of that is happening to us. We are all so privlidged to have what we have weither we realize it or not.If everything we were giving was taken away and we were forced to work for every little thing we had back, some people would begin to realize just how much we take our freedom for granted.
I believe one of the things that we take for granted the most is clean, running water pretty well everywhere. People in like africa and etc. could have to walk for up to 6 hours or more to get water thats not even clean. This is just one of the MANY things that we take for granted in Canada.
In my opinion, I think the biggest thing we take for granted is having money around. In other countries, jobs might not be so easy to find as it is here. there are a lot of people in poverty around the world without food and other needs that comes with having money. I would of said something completely different just a few months before, but now that Ive experienced having a job, having my own money, and then losing said job. when money isn't coming into your pocket every two weeks, you realize it wont always be there and it really never is for some people. We take so many other things for granted, but money is really the root to every luxury we have as Canadians.
I Think we take our clean water for granted. We use so much every day cleaning or dishes and flushing it down the toilet when people in 3rd world countries dont have any to even drink.
As Canadians I dont think we take just one thing for granted. I believe we take our entire life style and society for granted. I dont feel we really understand how lucky we are, whether it is about having clean running water or having $20 to go see a movie. It is just part of our normal everyday life and we don't think twice about it, but perhaps it is time more people start to realize this.
I feel that we take everything for granted. we have the countries beauty, one of the most beautiful coutries in the world. and we think nothing of it. and our natural recourses no one seems to notice that we hold a huge water suply when a few countries hold little to no water.and Oil we have lots and lots of oil a fuel that people dont seem to get. they cause wars over oil when we have plenty for everyone! I feel we take everything we have for granted.
I think we take for granted our healthcare system.A member of my family always complains and complains and doesn't realize that their isn't alot of doctors versus the need. I think we are lucky to havev are medicare system and shouldn't complain.
I believe we take everything for granted. Food, shelter, clean water, family, friends, the toys we have, medication. You name it, we take it for granted. we're naturally greedy people who always want more.. and yet, we can never realize that we have enough. We have MORE then enough, and it shows. It shows on our bodies, our attitudes, on everything.
